MAC’s Capabilities

VIP interiors

MAC redesigned the aircraft interior of a DC8 aircraft for a prestigious Middle Eastern customer.

The aircraft is being used as a ‘shopping hopper’ and required a cargo bay at the rear to enable it to transport a small vehicle. The aircraft interior trim was refurbished by lifting surfaces with stylish ultra-leather and replacing latches. This allowed MAC to transfer STC certification from the original aircraft.

Non standard seat track fittings were scattered throughout the aircraft, which created an initial problem as it made it almost impossible to continue with the original design. Working in conjunction with ATC Lasham, MAC were able to fit a new set of aircraft seat racks with minimal disruption and no real impact on the timescales of the project.

In order to remain in keeping with the customer’s style and reputation, MAC provided luxurious interior decorative finishes. The aircraft carpets were hand crafted and the aircraft interior panel units were veneered using bird’s eye maple and madrona. The use of light colours and pale woods now give the aircraft a contemporary and sophisticated look.

Commercial aircraft interiors

MAC were employed to upgrade business class lavatories for Transaero Airlines’ B767 fleet. MAC were chosen as they are experienced with providers of cabin upgrades which offer contemporary materials, finishes and designs without compromising the durability of cabin components.

MAC moved away from the Boeing stainless steel look and developed an environment that is both hygenic and comfortable for the passengers, whether they are business or leisure travellers. With careful choice of hardware and accessories such as bottle holders, baby change facilities and towel dispensers it has been possible to upgrade the customer’s impression of Transaero’s service.

Helicopter interiors

MAC recently refurbished an S76 Helicopter for a private Irish customer.

MAC designed the interior of the aircraft as a cocoon system whereby it is isolated within the original shell interior and this helps to reduce sound attenuation. MAC also introduced a forward window that allows passengers to look out through the cockpit window, helping to reduce flight sickness.

MAC manufactured new attachments for the base of the helicopter because there was a lack of top attachments, these units were designed with a low centre of gravity which allowed all the loads to be passed through the floor attachments.

All the aircraft monuments are veneered in macassa ebony. Seats were sourced from Decrane and are fully rotating. Gold plated bezels and buttons contrast with the leather seat upholstery.
